Author's Sit-Down Radio Interview Yields Exciting Opportunities
Youth ministry was the topic du jour when Xulon author Tim Ferguson made an appearance on the "Robin and the Giant" talk radio show, which runs out of Ocala, Florida. The author was there to promote his book, Not the Same Old, Done-It-Before Youth Meetings, a guide for youth workers in preparing for their youth meetings. Larry Winkler, the show's host, made this interview available to the general public via iTunes (http://phobos.apple.com/Webobjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=126270564). Says Ferguson, "Larry's opening remarks were, 'When I read this book, I realized this is really, really well done. You can tell by his exuberance, his enthusiasm, that he has been a real blessing to the youth he has worked with for over 30 years.' Later Larry asked me what youth got out of a youth group meeting. I replied that, besides providing a safe place for them to congregate, we want to challenge them to move forward in their faith and to learn how to apply that faith." Additionally, Ferguson has plans for a book signing at the New Horizons Christian Store in Coram, New York, this September. A review of his book will appear in The Presbyterian Outlook sometime in the fall of this year, along with an article he wrote titled "Youth, Trust, and Prayer." |
