Author Pays Visit to Set of Beloved Talk Show for Candid Interview
It's been three years since Vicki Duffy's No More Pain! first hit shelves, but the book couldn't be a hotter commodity. The author sat down for two candid television interviews-Celebrating Life in Recover on 3ABN, with host Cherri Peters, and The 700 Club on CBN, with host Kristi Watts. Both shows focused on her book, God, and overcoming self-injury. Duffy shared intimate details of her triumph over adversity and how God transformed her life. Her book chronicles her complete healing and how she recovered and overcame in every area of her life, including years of battling and struggling with self-destructive behavior that included cutting and burning her body. With God's help, she is no longer in therapy, not on any medication, and doesnŐt have disorders of any kind. It is her hope that "every person struggling will come to the realization that he/she can overcome anything in his/her life, as nothing is hopeless!"

Author's Schedule Kept Busy with a Plethora of Bookstore Visits
Xulon author Deborah K. Finley recently got back to her roots with a write-up in her local Illinois newspaper, the Northwest Herald Local News by journalist Sarah Sutschek. The article detailed, among other things, the author's book, her life in Chicago, and one experience at the age of 15 that changed the course of her life and later provided the groundwork for her bestselling book, What Your Future Holds and What You Can Do to Change It. During the course of the candid interview, Finley talked about everything from negative past experiences to her bright plans for the future-plans which currently include penning a children's book. She also revealed her upcoming plans for promotional stops throughout Illinois: a visit to a silent auction and dinner at the Bull Valley Golf Club to raise money for Home of the Sparrow, an organization which provides transitional shelter and supportive services for homeless women and children, and to which a portion of her profits from the book are already going. She also plans to autograph copies of her book at the Barnes & Noble in Schaumburg, as well as throughout Crystal Lake, Johnsburg, Algonquin, and Island Lake. Her book is also stocked locally at Lemstone Christian Store in Algonquin and New Life Book Store in Crystal Lake. Of a recent book signing at Barnes & Noble in Crystal Lake, Finley says, "The store sold out; 26 copies were sold. Also, due to the story the local newspaper did, I received calls from two radio stations, and one did advertising for me. Another radio station [WMCW 1600 AM, Harvard, Illinois] interviewed me live about my book." |

Christian Radio Station Taps Author to Deliver Commentary on Presidential Politics
Xulon author David Jeffers is making a big splash throughout Jesusland with his commentary on presidential politics. Jeffers' concise analysis was delivered in a radio interview with Michigan's largest Christian radio station, The Fish FM 103.6, which broadcasts out of Detroit. His commentary was also sought by the Washington Times; the article can be retrieved at: http://www.washingtontimes.com/article/20070918/NATION/109180077/1002. Jeffers, who is known for penning Understanding Evangelicals: A Guide to Jesusland, a bestselling book which encourages evangelicals to be an active, voting member of society, credits his 22 years of active army duty as the reason for his adopting a worldview based on biblical principles and life experiences. His love for Christ, love for politics, and outspokenness allow him to cut through all the confusion surrounding the debate of many of today's hot-button issues. |
