Author Exposes Counterfeit Miracles
"Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits" - I Timothy 4:1
We hear more and more about miraculous events. Inspirational religious leaders draw thousands with promises of healing and deliverance.
The Bible says that as we approach the last days right before the Second Coming of Jesus Christ, people will allow themselves to be deceived by agents of Satan that present magic events as miracles. With counterfeit spirituality on the rise, how can we discern what is from God and what is from the devil?
Spiritual discernment is needed to see God clearly and recognize increasingly clever deceptions that masquerade in His name. "Miracles or Magic?" provides a sound Biblical, historical and scientific analysis for a unique, comprehensive understanding of this controversial topic. This captivating book offers practical advice and encouragement to keep one's spiritual journey on track, and inspires loving but revolutionary changes to the world around them. A detailed Appendix with views on tongues and healings from key Christian leaders and denominations throughout church history is included.
Book author Rory Roybal was recently interviewed by Southwest Radio Church on September 3-4. Full interview webcasts are available for listening at http://www.swrc.com/ministry/schedule/schedule.html this month, or any time at http://www.miraclesormagic.com. "Miracles or Magic?" may be ordered from SWRC, Amazon.com, Barnesandnoble.com, Christianbook.com, or other online retailers.
Noah W. Hutchings, President, Southwest Radio Church Ministries:
"The author ... has done a tremendous service in bringing out the Truth of God's Word on this extremely sensitive and controversial subject."
As spiritual deception in this world rapidly increases, this book is a must read for both Christians and non-Christians!
Rory Roybal has more than 10 years of experience leading in-depth church and home Bible studies. He also has over 15 years of executive management experience, leading groups of up to 400 people and $33 million-plus technical business units. Roybal has been featured on the magazine cover of VB Tech Journal and served as editor-in-chief for the Unix System Price/Performance Guide, a high-technology periodical distributed quarterly to more than 15,000 computer buyers.

Eschatological Novel Flies off Shelves
Copies of Chronicles of Angels by D.C. Bennett went like hotcakes at a recent Barnes & Noble book signing for Charles Bennett in Fresno, California. Bennett sold 65 copies of the eschatological novel, which documents the apocalyptic battle against the forces of evil for the survival of mankind, in more than an hour, and the remaining books sold out just as fast. At another event in July, Bennett snagged a promotional appearance on KMPH Fox 26. It's no wonder the book has received so much buzz with a major focus on the unseen battle taking place in the heavenlies, Chronicles of Angels blends fact and fiction for a literary romp through one of humanity's most hotly debated topics. After a freak head injury, theology professor Donald Goodwin gains the ability to see the spiritual battle as it plays out all around us. Along with his atheist friend and beautiful colleague, he learns that his ability to see cross-dimensional planes plays an integral role in releasing Archangel Gabriel from a hellish captivity and back into battle. |

Author Solicits Radio Personality with Book, Gains Impromptu Interview
When author Gary Johnson submitted a copy of his book, Just Add Nothing, to Marsha Lambeth of FM KKHT 100.7, he thought nothing would come of it. The radio personality suggested he speak with Ken Garza, who hosted the station's daily drive home show from 4 to 6 p.m. each day. Says Johnson, "When I arrived at the station, Marsha met me in the lobby and spoke with me a few minutes. Mr. Garza walked in the lobby, arriving for his day. He led us into one of the recording/production studios. We began to talk and had a good exchange for a minute or two, and all of a sudden, Ken swung a mic around in front of my face and told me to just keep talking." Believing Garza to just be doing a sound check, Johnson continued speaking. After mentioning the title of his book several times, Garza addressed his listeners with an introduction to Johnson, a native Houstonian, and his book. Says Johnson, "I couldn't believe what was happening but tried to keep cool. What an interview!" But the most miraculous part came afterward: "He punched a few buttons and said, 'That's a wrap.' Then he turned to me and said, 'Gary, I don't know if you realize what just happened. Fifteen minutes before I walked in the lobby, the guest speaker I had scheduled for today's program called and canceled. I didn't know what I was gonna do. This is perfect. It's clean. Just let me do a little production cleanup and it will air today at 4.'" Johnson couldn't be happier about the impromptu interview: "All I started out to do was go and drop off a copy of my little book in the hopes that someone would read it and maybe take an interest. It's so amazing, it has to be God!" |
