Few people touch us more meaningfully than a mother. From our first breath through all the highs and lows of life, our mothers help shape us into the people we become—the people we are today. Do you have a story about a special time when your mother did something that left a lasting imprint on you? We’re looking for stories that showcase the poignant side to mothering, whether it’s making sacrifices for her children or doing something brave in a moment of decision. Perhaps you remember a “word in season” or a kind deed that still runs through your mind. Whatever the fond memory is of your mother, we want to hear from you! Xulon Press, the country's leader in Christian self-publishing, will publish a special book about unforgettable mothers. This book will be released to bookstores everywhere in April 2007. We will award $250 to the author of our favorite story and feature their entry at the front of this book.
Send us your story! If selected, it will be published in this new book to be distributed nationwide to bookstores and on the Internet. Click here for a sample story. Please note, there is a 400-word limit. Submissions over 400 words will be disqualified. NOTE: We are looking for stories, not letter-format entries or poems. Please compose your entry as a narrative story (see sample above).
