LONGWOOD, FL " GASPAR ?"the Last of the Buccaneers” ($18.99, paperback, 9781613792438) by Steve
Barber takes readers on a journey through one man’s adventures to exercise a
new found faith and, during the process, finds character integrity and hope.
Through the life of a resourceful man of the sea, Barber explains that anyone
can find the inspiration to persevere through the most daunting trials. Barber
believes that in a world of disbelief, despair and discouragement, there is always
hope. GASPAR portrays the message that The Christian life is a
thrilling walk of faith and adventure.
GASPAR
depicts a story of how the main character, Jose Gaspar, discovers life’s real
treasure in a world of corruption, deceit and political intrigue. As the 18th
century draws to a close, a mystic figure appears on the time line of history
whose presence is even felt today. Barber narrates that some would call him a
pirate sailing under the black flag of death while others would call him just a
ghost-a figment of the imagination. Although to those who knew him, he was just
an ordinary man who came full circle in life. In GASPAR, the man comes to
realize that life’s greatest treasures are the simple pleasures and the God
given blessings that are regularly bestowed upon the children of God. He sails
the east coast of Florida during some the most turbulent times and aids a young
nation during the political unrest of 1812. Through love, political intrigue
and adventures at sea, Jose Gaspar becomes ?"the Last of the Buccaneers.”
