LONGWOOD, FL--In today's world, subtle and sometimes unrealized cultural influences infiltrate the thinking and lifestyle of the average Christian. These influences war against believers' attempts at pursuing a relationship with God. Within the pages of The God Focused Life: Igniting the Fire of Loving and Pursuing God ($14.99, paperback, 978-1-61579-858-2) by Argyl L. Dickson, Jr., readers will learn that true freedom to passionately embrace the pursuit of God happens when they remove these cultural blinders. The reality is that in all eternity the God-focused life is the only life worth living.

"I hope the readers grasp the big picture presented here," the author says. "It is a paradigm shift for many. It will give them freedom to pursue God for who He is in a more boundless way. For many it will allow them to stop plateauing in their pursuit of God. It will produce a more vital passionate pursuit of God. If the church is to regain her strength and culture transforming power she needs to overcome these barriers."

Dickson, who is the pastor of a church plant, says that he has a good grasp of how people think due to his having lived on both the east and west coast. "God in His grace brought these things to my attention," he explains. "He has also given me the grace to be able to clearly articulate the problems and solutions. I have let these principles transform not just my own life but the lives of my wife, children, and many others as well who have read my manuscript."

Argyl L. Dickson, Jr., and his wife have 12 children. He currently pastors Living Water Community Church in Northern California.
