LONGWOOD, FL--Within the pages of Never a Dull Moment: Taking Light into the Darkness ($16.99, paperback, 978-1-60791-822-6), a new release from Xulon Press, author Glenn Adkins tells heart-wrenching stories of adventure, danger, and his dramatic efforts--driven by Christ's love--to reach out to lost humanity. While pastoring a church in Topanga, he and his family worked with and sometimes housed at the church some of the most spiritually and mentally destitute members of society. His story will alert the public about just how many hurting and lost people are falling through the cracks in society, and need understanding, compassion, and God's healing touch. This book illustrates exactly how readers can be that instrument to bring this to them.

"It should excite the reader to get out of the church walls and reach out with God's love to a lost and hurting world, no matter what the cost," the author says. "I have tried to convey how this is done with my true life stories."

Adkins, an ordained pastor and evangelist, met many of these people--prostitutes, pimps, gangsters, and addicts--in the streets of Hollywood and in Topanga Canyon, where he pastored from 1972 to 1986. Adkins, who always had a passion for lost souls and for helping lead others to Jesus Christ, says that it was during this time that hundreds of broken and homeless people of all ages came to him looking for a new life. It is his hope that by releasing this book, he will be able to lead many more to Christ and to eternal salvation.
