LONGWOOD, FL--How many times have you heard people tell you, "It will get better"? Whenever there is a situation that cannot be explained, people will say this. The first time author Joyce Ann Betts heard these words was as a five-year-old child at her grandmother's funeral. From then on, those words became a staple throughout a lifetime of trials. Looking back on her life, Betts realizes that even throughout these trying times, God was at work in her life. In her new release from Xulon Press, It Will Get Better - But When? ($10.99, paperback, 978-1-60791-476-1) the author reminds readers that even when we are in a "down" mood, we must keep in mind that God will be there and things will get better in due time.

Says Betts, "I hope this book will provide an outlet for the readers. There was laughter in my life and sad times. There were times when I did not think I would make it from day to day, but there was always an outlet there even though I did not see it. Also, [I hope] to tell the youth who want to be grown that it is not an easy task, but if you set a goal and do not burn your bridges behind you, and [you] keep the faith, you can make it."

Betts, a resident of Chicago, relays the situations she had to deal with as a child with remarkable candor. As she says, "People see the smile on my face but never realize the physical and emotional pain I may be in at that time. This book is all about me dealing with life experiences. It is how I felt about the situations, [and how they] affected the courage and strength I possess today."
