LONGWOOD, FL"Xulon Press is proud to announce the release of Tangible Thoughts Vol. 1: Inner City Blues ($15.99, paperback, 978-1-60957-807-7; $25.99, hardcover, 978-1-60957-808-4), a new title from author Nicole Y. Williams. This book is the exciting first installment in a collection of poems influenced by the author’s own experiences. She has catalogued in each poem an element of the environment in which she grew up; she provides outsiders with an inside perspective of inner city life through her honest and untainted verses, and insiders with an outside view of the possibilities that await them. Each poem will inspire, encourage, and ignite the reader.

?"I hope readers gain knowledge and understanding of the mentality and disposition of inner city life, as well as gain self-discovery and spiritual awakening,” the author says. ?"I believe we as humans cannot move forward until we admit where we came from and where we are.”

Williams grew up in an inner city neighborhood but chose to rise above her station in life. Ever since she was young, she had a God-given talent for turning her experiences into poetry. Writing was the ladder she eventually used to escape her circumstances. Now she writes in the hope that she will give everyone an opportunity to understand inner city life"even some of the most uncomfortable elements of it.
