Essence C. Atkins grew up in Severn, MD and currently resides in Northern Virginia with husband and two sons. Having attended Catholic elementary school and high school, she grew up knowing about God. However, it was later on in life that she realized that she needed to come to know Him and build a relationship with Him for herself. It took Atkins some years, but in 2013 she began that journey and life hasn’t been the same since. Knowing who she is in God has been a game changer and through her writing, she can now share that with others. It began with Facebook and then the idea for this book was born. Her hope is that she can inspire others and help them start their own journeys or enhance the journeys they are already on. Atkins enjoys spending time with her family, and can often be found cheering for her youngest son and his basketball team. She also enjoys reading, watching true crime shows, and giving back.
