Where is the Spirit of
Truth? Homilies and Gospel Reflections for Catholics
 is a spiritual
and educational book based on Deacon Cao’s personal experiences. Where
is the Spirit of Truth?
tackles common questions asked by Catholics
the world over and attempts to explore themes of guidance, love, and life lived
through the Spirit of Truth.  Deacon Cao hopes that this book will
serve as a study guide and a comfort to those seeking answers to common
spiritual questions.
Deacon Cao explains that
throughout life, humans ask many common questions. He likens the stages of a
life cycle, to stages of spiritual growth.  Deacon Cao explores what
we mean by the Spirit of Truth and how the Spirit of Truth is often in conflict
with the devil.  Deacon Cao offers tips for writing and delivering a powerful
homily that will resonate with the congregation. He explores and explains some
of the temptations we all face in our daily lives.  Deacon Cao also has
encountered the Lord through writing songs. He shares some of his
songs.  Finally, Deacon Cao shares 157 inspiring phrases or ideas
about the fundamental laws of human nature that he has compiled over a lifetime
of prayer, reflection, observation, and fellowship.

Deacon Khang Francis Cao studied at the Divine Word College from 1984 to 1990. He fulfilled the philosophy requirement for priestly vocation. He was a valedictorian with a double major, earning a BA in Theology and a BS in General Science. After a senior retreat, the Spirit of Truth led him in a different direction. Then, he attended graduate school in New Orleans. A year later, Francis moved to California, where he obtained a degree in Library Technology. A few years later, he went back to Louisiana and became a bilingual teacher. When his wife was pregnant with their second child, Francis resigned his teaching position to help his wife manage a family business. Francis and Tam (Tammy) Cao have one daughter (Jasmine), and four sons (Luke, Nicholas, Austin, and Philip).
One day, Francis Cao heard a voice in his dream that said, “What we have now is nothing compared to the glory that God will give us in the future.” For almost three months, the same message kept coming back, not only in his dreams, but also in his waking life. The Spirit of Truth led Francis Cao to consider the Diaconate Formation Program. After five years of study and discernment, Khang Francis Cao was ordained Deacon.
