After trying to evade God for decades, despair finally woke me to my need for Him. Life has been a long and winding journey back, yet full of adventure. The Alaskan Interior, villages of India and poverty of Haiti all saw God using me in amazing ways. Just when everything seemed on track, disaster struck. Both of my legs had to be amputated. This is the story of how God got me through, and even used it for the spread of the Gospel. Today, He is still guiding me with His Presence—and the adventure is not over!
Russ Sharrock was born on Patuxent River Naval Air Station, Md into a stereotypical “1950s” Christian family. The Cultural Revolution of the 60s swept him away with the heady deception of rebellion against society, family and God. After many wasted years, he submitted completely to the Lord in 1996, and the real adventure began. He has planted churches, pastored, trained and preached in Alaska, India, Haiti and more. Russ loves the outdoors, reading, photography, and of course, travel, always accompanied by his wife and partner, Alice. At 70, minus his legs, he knows that the adventure is not over!
