Dancing in the Drought

Coincidentally, the three-year period spent writing and compiling this devotional just happened to fall smack dab in the middle of a severe drought in the Texas Hill Country. Water—or the lack of it—became the topic of many stories. It also became an obsession. Craving rain more than Jesus can only lead to a spiritual drought as well. God takes Brenda on a slow dance through her own dry, parched wilderness and brings restoration to her hardened heart.
When we walk with Jesus, when we allow His springs of living water to quench our thirst and the longings of our soul, then we will find true joy. There still might not be any water in the lake or there could be a flood of heavenly rain; either way, there is joy in the journey, just as there is joy and hope in the pages of this devotional as God is glorified daily.
