In secret, opinions have consumed the world, the church and all human existence. As a formidable world power, they determine how and where we live, what we believe, which church we attend, our job, success, and friends. In every school, government, courtroom, family and nation, opinions rule. They determine our desires, personal views, and our responses to life’s vital issues, even our faith in God. They caused Satan to fall, Adam and Eve to disobey God, Moses to fear Pharaoh, David to kill Goliath, and the disciples to follow the Lord Jesus Christ. God’s opinion working through His love for us caused Him to send Jesus Christ to save us from our sins. Opinions determine our love, marriage, moral values, what we think and feel about others, our conversation, lifestyle, and daily communication.
In 1 Kings 18:21, the Prophet Elijah asked the people a serious question: How long will you hesitate (halt, stop) between two opinions? If the Lord be God, follow him; but if Baal, then follow him. This indicates opinions are deeply involved in our decisions, how we serve God, our worship, prayer, relationship, and praise. Our mindset, attitude, soul, and heart are greatly affected by our opinions.
This book encourages all to be free from the power of wrong opinions that separate us from God’s purpose, His Word, salvation, and eternal life.
