Why another book on Islam?
Given the dynamics of our shrinking world where once distant peoples now share neighborhoods, work-places and university classrooms, the time has come for Christians and Muslims to stop talking about each other and start talking to each other and with each other. For too long we have allowed third parties to define us, leaving us mutually diminished. Lost is the recognition of our shared humanity, the chance for friendship and much-needed clarity about our beliefs.
This book tackles questions that Muslims, if given the chance, would like to ask devoted Christians. These arise naturally from topics and events addressed in both the Scriptures and the Qur’an. Many Christians must ramp-up their understanding and Muslims deserve answers about Christian beliefs that are informed, clear and charitable. This conversational tool will help Muslims and Christians meaningfully navigate matters considered by both to be of supreme importance: God and Scripture.
“I have known Rev. Joe for a long time. Both of us believe that God-given Religion cannot be more than one. On that basis we are debating with each other about Christianity and Islam. Rev. Joe is a logically sound man and works hard to bring unity between the Christians and Muslims in Michigan. I wish him all success in life.”
—Dr. Faizur Choudhury, Hamtramck, Michigan
“This book will be a great milestone for many people around the world. A lot of our Muslim friends will get answers to many of their questions from this book. I am very excited about it.”
— Shakil Khondoker, Bangladeshi resident of Hamtramck, Michigan

J.P. KNIGHT, D.Min. serves God as a devoted follower of Jesus the Messiah. Twenty years of pastoring in metropolitan areas brought him face-to-face with America’s changing religious landscape. Confronted by his own ignorance of the wider religious teachings, he entered post-graduate studies with an emphasis in world religions. Upon completion, he taught courses globally and pastored an international church. Today J.P. is President of 4Ethne [“4-ETH-nay,” i.e., nations], a non-profit dedicated to helping communities build bridges to their next-door nations. For over twenty years, he and his wife resided in Michigan, the last six in an Arab neighborhood where their lives were enriched by scores of Muslim friendships.
