The REVEREND DR. EDWIN HARVEY HAMILTON, M.D., D. MIN.,
“A DUAL DOCTOR,” is ordained and was born and reared in Fort Myers, Florida. He graduated Magna Cum Laude, Florida A&M University. He holds a Doctorate in Medicine from Meharry Medical College, and earned a Doctor of Ministry degree, United Theological Seminary. His memberships include the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Life Memberships are NAACP, Kappa Alpha PSI Fraternity and the Sickle Cell Disease Association. Dr. Hamilton was the first African American President of the Broward County Medical Association; American Cancer Society (Broward County); Chief of Surgery, Broward General Medical Center; the first admitted into the Ft. Lauderdale Surgical Society and Leadership Broward. He authored The Health and Wellness Ministry in the African American Church: Preventive Health Education. In this current work, Life Beyond the Scalpel, Memoirs of a Surgeon Theologian, Dr. Hamilton gives a succinct chronology of his Life Changing events that are reflective of a poignant and penetrating relationship between the secular and the spiritual.
