Life for Joanna revolved around her time spent on the beach, with activities at the beach that involved making sandcastles and seashell-hunting with friends. However, in the new children’s book by author Monique Tedder, Joanna, Joanna dreams of flying and seeing life’s wonders, like snow. One day, as she looks out over the ocean, Joanna hears a voice say her name; but Joanna recognized that voice as the voice of God she had heard since accepting Jesus. God talks to her, reminding her of Psalm 37:4 about delighting in the Lord and God gives the desires of the heart. With this information in mind, Joanna decides to share with God, by praying to God, about her dreams to fly. His response is one that Joanna will remember always as a blessing from God. Joanna reflects on a girl’s relationship with God and trusting God for the desires of our hearts.
Monique Tedder is a servant: she served her country in the United States Air Force and now serves God. She is a devoted mother and grandmother. She writes children books to inspire children to believe all things are possible with God. Joanna is the first in the series. She has a love for life and God, and loves to pray and intercede for others. Her background includes degrees in education, information technology, and human resource, ministry, and counseling.
Her motto for life is as God’s Word says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5, 6, The New International King James Version).
