Born in Newfoundland, Canada, December 25, 1943. Graduated from Eastern Pentecostal Bible College in April, 1968; drove all night from Toronto, Ontario to Cumberland, Maryland and married Nancy Lowery there that same day!
We pastored in Canada until 1972, when we accepted our first appointment as missionaries to Zambia with the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada. Spent forty years total in world missions to Zambia, South Africa and Malawi, which also included over twenty years in Canada as a full-time missions promoter for the PAOC world missions program.
Worked as the PAOC Field Director of both Zambia and also Malawi at different times
Had a son and a daughter, both born in Zambia. Our son later died suddenly at age 15 of a massive heart attack while going in through the church door. Our daughter lives near us today in the Ottawa, Ontario region!
I am now retired after returning to Canada from Malawi for open heart surgery with the main artery in my heart one hundred percent block, yet despite that situation having had no sign of any heart attack. The doctor here pointed his finger in the air and said to me, “There must be Someone up there taking care of you!”
I still have a great passion for God and for the world He so loves! I love to write, and am now beginning to feel this is God’s new leading for me since my heart condition prevents long-term overseas commitments at this time. Love to speak on missions and have spoken in hundreds of churches in Canada and also overseas.
I have raised many hundreds of thousands of dollars for missions without usually even asking for money. Instead people have simply responded to the challenge presented, and then often ask me how they can become involved personally in world missions.
