As the Church moves forward in today’s society, there is a great need for Pastors, Elders and spiritual leaders that will reflect the nature of our Lord and be examples to His flock. However, one of the dangerous extremes within the Body of Christ today is the adoration and “hero worship” of our leaders over the adoration of our Lord Jesus Christ. It’s very sad that many Christians in the Church today have mistakenly given a place that should be reserved strictly for God alone to those who lead them.
This book, Between Honor and Idolatry seeks to help us as Christians learn how to love, respect and honor those in authority over us without falling into idolatry to them. We must give the Lord back His place in our hearts while balancing out and developing a healthy relationship with those whom He has called to oversee us.
