His great grandmother was one of the earliest Korean Protestant Christians. Since her conversion her line has produced six pastors including Dr. Kim. He holds BS (Seoul National Univ) and MS (Univ of Tennessee), both in engineering. He worked full time as a senior engineer while pursuing PhD in engineering when he sensed the call from the Lord. He earned MDiv (Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary) and D.Min (Fuller Theological Seminary). Ordained in 1984 he served as pastor in North Carolina, California and Virginia. Now retired, he teaches, preaches and writes as the Spirit leads.
