The book is about one person’s journey to Christianity and then to a deeper understanding of the love of God for His children, an understanding which radically changed the author’s view of himself, God, and others. His message is one which is sure to encourage his readers as they draw closer to God in their own lives.

The author, Walt, and his wife Michelle were married in 1970. They have three grown children and five beautiful grandchildren. In 1969 Walt served in Vietnam and was wounded. He finished his tour of service at Fort Ord, California. The couple became believers in the Lord Jesus Christ a year after they were married and a year later went to a missionary training school. In 1980 they left for Africa under the auspices of New Tribes Mission. They lived in the bush among the Manjack people of Senegal, West Africa, for 8 years, working on an alphabet, literacy, language learning, analysis of the Manjack language and a little bit of Bible translation. After coming home in 1989 Walt continued his education, receiving a B.A. in history, then a M.A. in special education and one in Biblical counseling. Walt has done considerable counseling over the years. He loved writing and wrote over 50 posts over a period of four years. This book is the compilation of those posts that he so carefully penned. Walt passed away in September 2017 after an accidental fall from a ladder.
