My Friend the Rain is the second book in “The Weather” series. The first in this series is titled My Friend the Wind, published in 2016.  This endearing narrative is about a young girl who is intrigued by the origins of the rain. She ventures out and experiences different ways the rain and water benefit us. She comes to the realization that there must be a creator of the rain. Thus, she is gently moved to understand that God is the creator of all things. Come along on this gratifying adventure and unfold what has been in front of us all along.


About the Author
Bessie “Terry” Wilkerson is an ordained minister that prefers being outdoors. In 2002 Bessie earned a Master of Education degree in Psychological Studies from Cambridge College. She has worked in the Early Childhood Education/Human Services field for over three decades. Bessie is a PK (preacher’s kid) who loves the Lord. She delights in singing and traveling. Bessie led her first song at the age of 6 years old at her father’s church. She has a three-book series titled “The Weather” series and has written several other multicultural children’s books. Her first book titled The Hungry Squirrel, was published in 2015. Bessie resides in Massachusetts with her adult children. She can be available for your next event for seminars, books readings, and book signings.

About the Illustrator
Jennifer Cheng DesAutels loves sketching outdoors, rain or shine. Her work is inspired by nature and the youth in her community. An artist since childhood, Jennifer studied illustration in Boston. She also illustrated My Friend the Wind and artwork for the education market. She is honored to work with Ms. Wilkerson on this celebration of God all around us.
