The General: William Booth is the first full-length biography about William Booth, the founder of The Salvation Army, since 1934. It is in two volumes. The first volume is called The Evangelist, and examines his life from 1829 to 1865. The second, The Soldier, traces the life of Booth from the early days of The Salvation Army in 1866 to his death in 1912, and introduces readers to his remarkable family and a whole host of unusual characters. The publication of this volume marks the 175th anniversary of the birth of William Booth. Thanks be to God.
