After graduating from the University of Colorado, Janet G. Balfour walked into an elementary school classroom to begin her 30-year teaching career. She taught all subjects in grades K–5, but her favorites were science and writing. Mrs. Balfour enjoyed telling stories to her students to help them learn their lessons and was known as the school's storyteller.
Her experiences as the mother of four sons, the grandmother of two girls, and a resident in six different states have given her much to share with her readers.
Mrs. Balfour is the author of two books for parents: Help! My Kid's Schoolwork Is Driving Me Crazy! and Read to Your Kids. She is the author of a children's guide to writing, Not Another Writing Assignment! Mrs. Balfour presents writing workshops and has two CDs available: Improve Your Kids and Let Me Read to You.
