Bristol. The very name of the place would often bring a lop-sided grin and a sardonic look from even the most mellow race car driver. The high thirty-six degree banking and the close quarters made this half mile track a wild circus when the Cup boys came into town. Anything could happen and the unexpected was the norm. Tempers as well as engine temperatures ran hot at this place and few if any drivers finished the race without a battle scar or two. That is if they finished.
