There are three things that every fictional story – no matter what genre – should contain or embody. It almost goes without saying that it should be original, but it should also be imaginative and stimulating; constructed in such a way as to reach deep into the heart and soul of the reader. In other words, it should engage the mind on thought provoking levels, thus leaving the reader forever changed. The second is that it should entertain. At the very least, a well written and composed story should comfort, inspire, invigorate, scare, amuse, and distract the reader from the world outside its pages. Lastly, every good story should end with the reader longing for more. This is not to say it should end on a cliffhanger, but that it should have successfully involved the reader in the lives of the characters and plots to the extent that the reader misses them when they are no longer together. It should leave them yearning for more adventure and excitement.
The Spirit of Imagination is a series of ongoing stories that include: Mystery of the Morning Star, Always on the Horizon, Author of Worlds, and Winter Mountain. Four books that promise to deliver on the core story ingredients and fundamental fiction essentials listed above. Each is uniquely provocative, uncommonly distracting, and heartwarmingly engaging. Let the adventures begin.
“Love, laughter, tears…a spell binding read! A brilliantly composed adventure with genuinely real characters full of virtue – you want to meet them, hug them, and then have them over for lunch.” – Karen A. Lech (Author – 51 Poems for Children and The Incredible Tale of Ethan McWhale)
“Truly the best book I have read all year. Fast paced, original, and engrossing. I enjoyed every minute of the ride.” – Andrew Runyard
