The Book is a product of years of field service in the USA and overseas, an expose on classic trades skills which can be taught. In fact, the theme in general is to pass on what we have learned into the hands and hearts of the next generation. The reader can benefit from savvy advice from an old carpenter and even tackle a few projects that before might have seemed impossible. Barry writes about the reason for bivocational ministry as it strives to glorify God and make disciples by entering the market place environment.
The book demonstrates how diverse and unique every unreached (for Christ) area can be. It is a motivation for discovery of empirical evidence, and then form a holistic effort to use available resources to shape lives. How do we nurture the concept of being “Salt & Light” to the world around us?
Clear, common sense application of biblical principles opens the readers mind to a hermeneutic approach not learned in a classroom. Story after story will reveal insight into the mind of our savior Jesus Christ and his disciples. It is my hope that this writing effort from a novice will bear witness to wisdom from God in fresh new ways. It is my hope to grab the narrative on bivocational pastoral ministers and bring this model to a higher level of importance in the area of theologically sound & holistic outreach to the marginalized.  In short, it is both a writing about an externship between a master & a novice, and a road map for Kingdom Community Development.
