I wrote this book to share with you the life of my dear late father, Rev. Alexander I. Siczko and all those wonderful people together who helped to make the ministry of Good Shepherd Bible Church possible. My father was an old-fashioned pastor who lived for basically three things in his life. He loved the Lord. He loved his family and he loved God’s people. He would get up in a rainstorm in the middle of the night to go and pray for the sick, because he cared for them.
He had opportunities in his younger days to be successful in business, but he loved the Lord more, reasoning that he had only one life and it was better spent ministering to the needs of a suffering sin wounded world needing Christ.
I am in the ministry today because my Dad and Mom were the same persons at church and at home. They taught me the love of Christ by living for Him in our home and in public. This book tries to depict an honest portrayal of the spiritual victories and trials of a pioneer Pastor.

I graduated from the Northeastern Illinois University in 1971 with a B.A. degree in Economics and was privileged to attend the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business in the fall of 1972. I graduated in 1974 with a degree in Finance and International Business. PhD Studies at Northern Illinois University.
I took a position in a major insurance company in early 1975 but my heart wasn’t in it and resigned my position in late 1975 to join Good Shepherd Bible Church as youth pastor. At the same time, I taught economics at Northeastern. I took courses at the Berean Bible School and was licensed to preach by the Assemblies of God Illinois District in 1978 and ordained in 1980.
I worked alongside my father for 20 years. When my Dad passed in 1996, I was privileged to become Senior Pastor of the Congregation of the church that I grew up and served in. We currently have two church facilities. Our English-speaking church is in Lake Villa, IL and our Spanish church is in Melrose Park
