For centuries, marriage has been a very controversial subject. As society has progressed forward, unhappy and failed marriages no longer come as a surprise to the majority of the population. It seems that loving and lasting marriages have become the eighth wonder of the world. Young or old, rich or poor, people of every demographic have experienced divorce in marriages; so much so, we’ve begun to ask, “Is it even worth the trouble?”
In Marriage: A Boomerang in God’s Hand, Rachel Penns not only exposes how we’ve gotten away from the foundation of marriage, but she brings us back to the Creator to examine His original purpose for this relationship. Of all relationships that exist between mankind, God holds marriage between a man and woman in highest esteem. This is the only relationship that is comparable to the covenant between Christ and the Church.
Originally intended to be a ministry course essay assignment on marriage, Penns’s study and biblical research on the subject inspired her to evaluate her own past relationships, allowing her to grow in understanding and receive personal revelation on the topic. God’s design for the marital relationship between a man and a woman beautifully parallels His intention for Christ and the Church. This book is written to encourage and enlighten those who also seek to grow in their understanding of God’s design for marriage.

Rachel Penns was born and raised in New Orleans, La. After Hurricane Katrina, she relocated to Baton Rouge, LA where she currently resides. She was ordained as a licensed minister in 2016 and has a passion for teaching spiritual foundation principles. She also enjoys serving in her local church and spending her free time with the elderly. She is the mother of four children; three sons and one daughter.
