A world travelled French Chef has
prepared a feast for you…
The rationale governing human thought on Earth markedly differs from the divine logic in Heaven. In our human minds, justice often appears straightforward. We tend to believe that when we act virtuously, we merit rewards, and when we make mistakes, punishment is our consequence. Likewise, we tend to judge our adversaries (however we define them) when they err.
The undeniable reality is that God stands ready to extend forgiveness to each one of us, regardless of our actions, our identities, or our current life circumstances. Such is His inherent nature!
Before I encountered Christ, I believed I had sunk too deeply and become too tarnished to receive forgiveness. This perspective, shared by many of my fellow countrymen in France, is summed up in sayings like “purify yourself before presenting yourself to God” or “help yourself, and heaven will aid you,” essentially implying that you must rely solely on your own efforts. Have you ever attempted to do just that?
In God’s view, this mindset couldn’t be more mistaken. According to 1 Corinthians 6:9-11, no one is ever beyond the scope of God’s forgiveness. This includes not only adulterers, homosexuals, transgender individuals, alcoholics, thieves, but even murderers. In fact, verse eleven underscores, “And that is what some of you were. But you were cleansed, sanctified, and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God” (NIV).
