LONGWOOD, FL-Journey through a modern-day Pilgrim's Process in Xulon author Janine M. Clark's gripping new release, An Invitation to Come: An Allegory (paperback, 978-1-60647-260-6). When two angels from heaven enter the dark town of Self-Absorption-where the false promise that "all your dreams will come true when you live here" reigns supreme-to deliver invitations to seven citizens there, the lives of these seven ordinary people are turned upside down. The citizens receive their invitation from the Pursuer of Souls, who is calling them to meet Him at Lake Still Water. He asks them to come right away. On their journey to this mythic lake, the citizens run into many hardships and troubles, learning that all the while that the Pursuer of Souls is exactly who He says He is.

Says Clark, "[Readers] will personally identify with the characters. They will become part of their hearts. They will learn and see the heart of the Pursuer of our Souls and learn more about His wonderful love and mercy. We live in a land of self-absorption and we struggle with hurts, disappointments, and the emptiness of the things of this world. Yet we have a Pursuer who reaches down and reveals His love and brings to us meaning and purpose. [This] is a book we can all relate to."

The book is semi-autobiographical. After receiving a call to God in 1990, Clark was led from self-absorption to self-purpose when it was revealed she lacked strength, ability, reason, and success in pleasing others. The course of her life was inevitably changed, and she redirected her efforts toward ministry and helping equip others for discipleship.
