The son of missionaries to Australia, the People's Republic of China, and the West Indies, Wittman was raised on the mission field and has been preaching since age 16. He is a United States Marine Corps infantry combat veteran who has served in multiple theaters, a former police officer, and a former federal agent. He was the Special Agent-in-Charge of Representative Nancy Pelosi's security detail and has personally protected Senators Joe Lieberman, Pat Leahy, Trent Lott, and Hillary Rodham Clinton. He currently resides in Greer, South Carolina, with his wife, Kim, and their three children, Drew, Jack, and Michaela.
