LONGWOOD, FL--The Bible provides answers to many questions. However, because those answers are often hidden in obscure places, many people find the Bible to be intimidating and confusing. That is why Xulon Press author Andrew D. Wittman penned Covenant for Rookies: Have You Ever Asked God Why? ($14.99, paperback, 978-1-61579-287-0) This new title takes readers on an in-depth journey to the heart of Scripture to get answers to the most important question they can ask of God: "Why?" It is meant to serve as a roadmap or trail guide through the Bible. It offers help for Christians from all backgrounds and denominations--and some of the contents may even directly challenge what they have been taught or have always believed.

"The majority of people that have any exposure to faith have always suspected there should be more to this 'God stuff' than just going to church and trying to be a good person," the author says. "Reading this book will reveal they were right all along, and they will begin to enjoy fulfillment and freedom in their lives immediately."

The son of missionaries to Australia, the People's Republic of China, and the West Indies, Wittman was raised on the mission field and has been preaching since age 16. He is a United States Marine Corps infantry combat veteran who has served in multiple theaters, a former police officer, and a former federal agent. He was the Special Agent-in-Charge of Representative Nancy Pelosi's security detail and has personally protected Senators Joe Lieberman, Pat Leahy, Trent Lott, and Hillary Rodham Clinton. He currently resides in Greer, South Carolina, with his wife, Kim, and their three children, Drew, Jack, and Michaela.
