2007-07-06

LONGWOOD, FL-Slogging through metaphorical "wilderness experiences" in life is never fun, but you may be surprised by how much you can learn from them, especially those of Rose Reese, author of Desert Rose: Come Out of the Desert and Bloom ($10.99, paperback, 978-1-60266-295-7). The author, who has been overcoming hardships ever since losing her mother at age 16, has packed her book full of how-to tools to equip people in their life journey. With it comes an exciting realization of the deep intimacy God seeks to have with all of us.

"I have had some unique experiences in my life that readers can glean from," says Reese. "There are some truths in this book that can help to unlock new doors for readers as they trust God more and find their destiny in life."

After her mother's premature death, Reese was battered by a continual slew of hardships, including marriage to an alcoholic which eventually led to divorce, single parenting for 12 years, and battling breast cancer. She soon discovered that which did not kill her made her stronger and equipped her to become an overcomer. "All these storms in my life have weaved a rich tapestry into the DNA I carry today as I continue to follow Jesus," says Reese.

Rose Reese has one daughter and three grandchildren. She resides in Kansas City with her husband of eighteen years.
