LONGWOOD, FL-When God's gentle prompting and encouragement from family and friends convinced Xulon author Pearl Bancroft to pen a story "for the young and for the young at heart," Puddin (paperback, 978-1-60647-083-1; hardcover, 978-1-60647-084-8) was born. This newly released novel tells the story of Puddin, a rag doll, who observes a Christian family and learns some important things from them about who Jesus is and how He affects their lives. The simple but impactful biblical principles presented in this book will resonate with readers of all ages.

Says the Hendersonville, North Carolina, resident, "It is my hope that parents and children will desire to know Jesus and follow godly principles in life's decisions. Only then can they find true happiness. In the midst of all the evil influence this world is forcing upon our children these days, this book offers a Christian alternative with a happy forever."

Born in Illinois' Fox River Valley, Bancroft was reared a Christian but, being an only child, was lonely. She soon found comfort in books, which became her fast friends. The dream to become an author was not far behind. As she grew older, the author took several creative writing classes in college, eventually attending Billy Graham's writing school, and penned devotional material for her church. After publishing works in both Southern Poetry Review as well as the in-house publication of Good News Publishing Co., she set her sights on completing her first major work of fiction. Puddin represents the culmination of a lifelong dream–to encourage others in their Christian walk by doing what the author loves best: writing.

Pearl Bancroft currently resides in North Carolina with her husband, Russ, and their two children, Kathy and Daniel.
