LONGWOOD, FL-Are you a Christian but still feel unfulfilled? Are you hungry for a close relationship with God? Do you know how to draw closer to Him? Is the present "shaking" in the church unsettling you? Jeffrey Hirscher's gripping debut, The Making of a Soldier of God: Lessons in Christian Maturity for the Last Days (paperback, 978-1-60477-795-8; hardcover, 978-1-60477-796-3), has just recently hit bookstores, and it has a thing or two to teach believers about knowledge and discipline and the tools needed to live victoriously. Structured in the way of a military boot camp, the book acts as a stepping stone to a closer walk and relationship with God while preparing us for personal revival and transformation.

Says Hirscher, "This book comes in a time when there is much 'shaking' going on in the church world as well in the political world. It comes at a time when there is much uncertainty in this nation and in some leadership circles within the body of Christ. This book comes at this time, and under these circumstances we live in, [it sets] a solid and biblical foundation for those who are hurting and for those who do not know how to align their lives with the Word of God."

An elder and ordained minister, the author dedicated the last couple of years to writing this book. Along the way, he has had to live out (through experience) some of the things written within it, proving through his own experiences many of the disciplines that are written therein. "The quote concerning Jesus that 'He learned obedience through the things He suffered' applies more so to us today," he says.
