MAITLAND, FL— Beverly Hubbard’s new book, The Story of the Bible—God’s Message to the World ($20.99, paperback, 978-1-62419-942-4; $9.99, e-book, 978-1-62419-943-1) is a summary of the story line of the Bible, an introduction to its characters and events, with an examination of its themes to explain its meaning. The author shares her genuine love for the Word of God with others, simply so that they would be educated and hopefully engage in relationship with the Lord.

The book’s unique feature is that it presents the whole panorama of Bible history in very small segments, each introduced with an important question that people ask,” states the author. “The question is the hook into the narrative, which leads to the answer to the question. My hope is that this format will draw the merely curious into a genuine interest in knowing what the Bible has to say. I hope they will come away convinced that the Bible is true and that its message is for them personally.

Beverly Hubbard grew up in a family that loved the Bible. She had heard all the Bible stories by the time she learned to read, and after that she could read them for herself. When her parents went to Brazil as missionaries, she and her siblings were educated in mission boarding schools. Later, after getting a teaching certificate and a B.A. degree in English from Seattle Pacific University, she returned to Brazil to teach in a mission school. She and her husband served there together for thirteen years. The author explains, “When we returned from Brazil to live in the States, I realized that a cultural shift had taken place.  People no longer knew much of anything about the Bible. And I wanted them to know. Therefore I wrote this book.”
