He has worked for numerous insurance carriers, and in multiple jurisdictions. He is the grandson of the late Pastor James Roosevelt Carter of the Carter Memorial Church in Baltimore and is a long time and active member of The People's Community Baptist Church in Silver Spring, Maryland. Robert Carter is a Baltimore native who graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore County, with a degree in Graphic Design.
