MAITLAND, FL— Within the pages of Tina Streeter’s new book, Gillespie Dancing - How Gillespie Got His Name, ($11.99, paperback, 9781498425766; $5.99, e-book, 9781498425773) readers will meet Mr. and Mrs. Dancing, soon-to-be parents who were so excited to be welcoming a baby boy into their family that they almost forgot to name him. This delightful story reveals to young readers the unconventional method for choosing the baby boy’s name as they are introduced to a colorful cast of entertaining characters. Energized by Daphne Williams’ bright and vibrant illustrations, the story captures a strong sense of what family means – a reaffirming and inspiring message to all children. This family’s celebration conveys to children the value in sharing joy with those closest to you.

I want readers, especially the young ones, to be curious about their names and the story behind how they got their names – because everyone has a name-story,” states the author. “It may be a short one and not quite as dramatic as Gillespie's, but seeking out that story can bring families closer together and give children a better sense of who they are and how they are valued within their families.

Tina Streeter is the proud mother of adult twin daughters, two sons-in-law and two beautiful grandsons. She lives in Little Rock, Arkansas and knows a thing or two about family and dancing for joy. Tina based this adorable story on the birth of her nephew Avery – the long awaited first boy born into the family in 23 years. There were some funny efforts family members made to influence what her nephew's chosen name would be, but like the Dancing's in this story, her brother and sister-in-law made the ultimate and an unexpected name selection. For the most part, people really liked their choice – except for a couple of family members who loved the kid, but were still a little miffed about his name. And, just like family in the story, Tina’s real family learned to get over it, too.
