— Is it possible to be
inspired by poems about God, Bible characters, and nature?
Within the pages of Bibles
and Nature Poems ($11.49, paperback, 9781498461351; $5.99, e-book,
9781498461368), Linda Peden shares a variety of spiritually inspired short
poems.
“Readers who enjoy reading poems about nature, Bible
characters and themes will enjoy reading the poems and discerning the spiritual
lessons in them,” the author states. “Those who want to learn how to write
poems will find instructions on how to write them.”
The book is divided into sections, each with a description
of how to write a particular kind of poetry, poems of this kind and a page for
reader to write their own poem.
“It's a great poetry unit for home schooling,” Peden says.
“There is instruction for writing poems--limericks, concrete, diamante, free
verse, Japanese poetry--as well as a page at the end of each section to write
your own.
“This book will inspire you to see the truths about God in
nature and Bible stories,” she adds. “Many poems about nature also teach a
truth about God. Look for the truth about the character of God as you read each
poem.”
Raised in a Christian home, Linda Peden was an elementary
school teacher in a Christian school when she decided to write her own Bible-based
examples. Her previous book was Fulfill
Your Covenant in Me, Lord.
