A Biblical Perspective Explains Rewards and Loss Of Rewards For Believers

What does the Bible say about when God will judge believers?

Within the pages of The Believers Judgement and Rewards ($30.99, paperback, 9781545609583; $9.99, e-book, 9781545609590), Christians will discover a biblical perspective on the judgment seat of Christ.

“It has been taught that once a person has accepted Jesus' sacrifice, they are guaranteed a place in heaven,” Fred Pfeiffer says. “However, what is regrettably not discussed is the judgement seat of Christ, where saved believers must explain how they lived the Christian life through the Holy Spirit's direction. This book begins with the differences between spirit salvation and soul salvation, followed by the need of obedience to the Holy Spirit to complete God's good works.”

Accountability to God comes not through bondage to legalism or one's own good works, but in choosing to follow the Holy Spirit as believers learns who they are in Christ.

“As believers stand before Christ at His Judgment Seat, the hope is the Holy Spirit was evident in their life on earth,” the author states. “One of the greatest incentives for believers to live godly Christ-like lives should be the knowledge and understanding of the judgement seat of Christ. Yet, the judgement seat of Christ is probably one of the least understood topics in the Bible.

“Many Christian believers think that since they have 'accepted' Jesus into their heart, that they have no further need to grow closer to God,” Pfeiffer adds. “The Bible gives a completely different perspective. Believers need to wake up to the reality that they will face a certain judgment by Jesus Christ Himself in regard to their own obediance to the leading of the Holy Spirit. Were they disciples or simply remained a convert?”

A native of Oakland, California, Fred Pfeiffer has been a follower of Christ for 40-plus years. He has a master's degree in intercultural studies and world mission from Biola University. Retired from engineering work, Pfeiffer moved to San Diego County in 2010, where he teaches various Bible studies at local churches in the community.
