Fictional Book Highlights Seven Churches of Revelation

Tale of country preacher shows value of a life lived in God

LONGWOOD, FL" Many people are just going with the flow, following the majority and looking for signs to fortify their religious convictions, says Christopher W. Young, author of Cainfield ($16.99, paperback, 978-1-61215-616-3; also available in e-book format), a novel about the persecutions and tragedy surrounding the life and disappearance of a revered country preacher.

The story includes the seven churches in Revelation chapters 2 and 3, detailing several traits which led these churches to having their candles blown out and removed by God. A subtle warning to today’s churches could be envisioned through this ?"light reading” comedy/drama.

?"As with the main character, Cainfield, God shows His care, concern, and sovereignty in using those who seek His face to further the kingdom of God,” says Young, who is a New Jersey-born minister. ?"There are many self-deluded souls today who are careless about living a life worthy of God. Jesus said ‘Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake.’ I wrote this story in the love of the Lord. My hope and prayer is that it will be enjoyable to read, yet speak volumes about walking with God.”

Rev. Christopher W. Young graduated from Bloomfield College, fought in the Vietnam War, married his wife of 40 years, and co-raised two children, now successful adults who, with their spouses, have blessed him and his wife with six grandchildren.
