LONGWOOD, FL—The story behind the new Xulon Press book, A Lie Masquerading: Uncovering and Overcoming the Simple Thoughts That Lead Us to Temptation’s Pasture ($14.99, paperback, 978-1-61904-307-7), began with a dream—a dream in which author Kristi Woods witnessed the sudden death of a family member. A few hours later, her mother called to confirm what she believes the Lord had prepared her to hear—that the family member had indeed passed away just hours before. It became obvious to her, she says, that the Lord was answering her prayer of recent days, wherein she asked Him to make His voice and His will known to her. From then on, she says He assured her it was indeed time to venture out into ministry and to begin writing publicly, as her co-laborers had been eagerly encouraging her to do. The fruit of her labor has just been released in bookstores and on the Web.
“My book will
throw the covers off darkness’ role in our seemingly simple thoughts and
actions,” she says. “It’ll give us encouragement to stand firm and cling to the
Lord as our vision becomes clear and we draw nearer in maturity to a very real
God,” she says.
Kristi Woods is a military wife to Tony, mother of three, Bible teacher, and author. She has a burning desire to encourage others to “go deeper” in the things of the Lord, saying that He has “more.” She and her family currently live and homeschool in Hawaii, but they move wherever the Lord and the military take them.
