Author Jeff Branaman shares his powerful story to help readers find their own life purpose in PITS TO PURPOSE - WIN AT LIFE Instruction Manual Race Car Stories Combined with Biblical Truth ($14.49, paperback, 9781662869358; $6.99, e-book, 9781662869365).

Jeff Branaman, a former race car driver, explains that he crashed at life before crashing in a race car. His first crash “off the track” broke his heart while the second crash while racing, seriously injured his brain. Through his relatable and thought-provoking real life story, Branaman motivates readers to know that even during the darkest of moments, God is there. This book cleverly shares his personal story through racing analogies and inspirational Bible references to help others “claim victory as they climb out of their own pits.” Branaman aims to help readers find purpose and understand what that purpose looks like lived out.

When asked what inspired the author to write this book, Branaman said, “God brought me through my darkest moments so I could tell others how He offers deliverance and hope through the most difficult times.”

Jeff “Jett” Branaman has been a pastor since 2006 and is the founder of Jett Life Ministries. He began racing cars in Phoenix when he was just six years old, and his love for the sport continued into adulthood. He served as an F16 inspection mechanic in the Air Force, followed by several years working in Minnesota and playing ball sports. A failed marriage drove him to his knees, where he committed his life to Jesus and began his transition from “Pits to Purpose.” Years later while racing a sprint car, he hit a wall and flipped violently. He was forced to retire because of a traumatic brain injury. Overcoming these life changing events instigated his compassion for people working through difficulties. He and his wife, Deanna, currently work with a transitional program for former inmates, helping others win at life. He loves watching his wife when she leads worship. In addition to racing cars, Branaman played baseball, basketball and broomball. Today, he enjoys attending those sporting events and hockey.
