Author Ingrid Jeannis-Desire, PhD shares from her experience working as an educator of autistic children in The Little Quirks That Melt My Heart: A Parade Of Beautiful Souls: Autistic Children, And What They Give Us ($17.99, paperback, 9781662866715; $28.99, hard cover, 9781662866722; $7.99, e-book, 9781662866739).

There is so much variety among those diagnosed on the autistic spectrum, as each individual has their own little idiosyncrasies, or “quirks”.  These unique characteristics in each child brought continual joy to Jeannis-Desire during her years teaching in this field, and in return taught her life lessons she could take beyond the classroom.

“I have been an educator for the past thirty years and have worked with the autistic population for nearly fifteen years. I am so fortunate to have had those years with the students and made a positive impact in their lives, said Jeannis-Desire.

Dr. Ingrid Jeannis-Desire devoted a major part of her life as a teacher, a counselor, and school administrator. Her degrees in the field of psychology, special education, guidance and school counseling, school leadership, and counseling psychology -- ranging from the levels of bachelor through doctorate -- have paved the path for her many accomplishments. She is grateful for all her experiences and who she is today.  Dr. Jeannis-Desire lives in a New York suburb with her husband and daughter.
