Author Doris Anne Holman shares her experience as caregiver and companion leading up to the death of her husband in Heavenly Music, Light and Fragrance: One Man's Journey to Heaven ($16.99, paperback, 9781662877643; $9.99, e-book, 9781662877650).
Doris Anne cared for her third husband, Berne, for as long as she was able, but the day came when he needed care she was unable to provide, at which time he entered the Hospice/Vet Home. For a time she was allowed to visit, but the COVID -19 pandemic eventually limited even that to porch visits.
"I couldn't find a book that helped me deal with the problems that my husband faced in his last years. It is my hope that by sharing my story it will help other caregivers recognize the steps of decline. My lists will guide people to know what will come next when going through a similar experience. God gave me visions and angel visits to write my story, so that others would know that God is with us, during both the good and bad times."
Doris Anne Holman is an award-winning watercolor artist who has taught art, watercolor painting, and reading. She earned a BS from Goucher College and a masters from Loyola College and took advanced art courses from the University of Maine. Holman is the author of eleven children's books and one adult watercolor book. She won a lifetime achievement award from Marquis Who's Who.
