Xulon Title Introduces Readers to New Concept About Abortion

Book encourages readers to take the first step by asking forgiveness

2009-06-22

LONGWOOD, FL-With the topic of abortion commanding so much attention in news headlines today, Xulon Press author D.J. Parsons felt led to write a book addressing it. In Ascribing Responsibility to Abortion and Other Atrocities--An Indictment to Men and The Thief on the Cross Got to Go--A Survival Guide for All of Us Who Have Done Something Terrible ($11.99, paperback, 978-1-60791-512-6; $19.99, hardcover, 978-1-60791-513-3), the author hopes to communicate themes of forgiveness and survival to her readers. The first part of her book begins by introducing readers to the idea that both pro-life and pro-choice are misnomers that have created thirty years of going nowhere. The second part of the book aims to instill in readers the idea that it's high time they re-examine their belief system. When combined, the book makes for an exhilarating, eye-opening read that is sure to resonate with readers of all stripes.

Says Parsons, "I want to stir the pot. I want to strike a nerve. Labels such as democrat, republican, liberal, and conservative must be put aside. Those who hold to the 'We're right, I didn't do it, I don't need to cover my shame' [belief] will be separated out. The book's purpose is not to explain the big picture, but to encourage taking the first step: asking for forgiveness."

A retired fashion designer, Parsons says it wasn't until she became a church secretary that she became aware there is very little behavior difference between the churched and unchurched. After researching, reading, and analyzing more than 50 books on Christianity and the Bible, she compiled her findings into a book she knew would benefit everyone. "I want to share what I have learned with those who do not have the time and luxury to do this study," she says.
