LONGWOOD, FL--Though it is the second leading cause of dementia after Alzheimer's Disease, few people know what Lewy Body Dementia is. Xulon author Anne Hartman learned firsthand the challenges of caring for someone with the disease when her beloved husband, John, began struggling with it. Within the pages of her new release, Though He Slay Me: Our Experience with Lewy Body Dementia ($18.99, paperback, 978-1-60957-646-2), the author presents a journal with an honest portrayal of the struggle of living--and dying with dementia.

"I pray that readers will be educated and encouraged as they read about John's handing this disease over to praise and honor God," the author says. "I pray that in reading about my emotions and actions through the course of the disease, God would be exalted as sovereign over all, even the heartbreak of dementia."

Hartman, a resident of Virginia, says that she took care of her husband at home for more than three years before he finally moved to a nursing home. This journal--written in incomplete sentences, hurried, and at times frustrated--reveals how she handled her responsibilities as his wife and how God carried them through this difficult time. It is her hope that this book will help other caregivers to walk through this valley of the shadow of death--and fear no evil.
