LONGWOOD, FL-Journey with D. M. Klatt from riches to rags to eternal wealth in his book Grits, Rice & Dustpan Biscuits: We Have a Choice (paperback, 978-1-60477-331-6). First-time author Klatt tells the story of how he and his wife were the "average, hard-working, middle-class, financially secure Christian couple next door" and lost everything they owned. Homeless, they faced starvation and certain death and then discovered the truth about themselves, God, their purpose in life, and whether or not they were really saved.
Everyone dreams of growing up and living happily ever after, the author says. But something happens. "We go through life unhappy and miserable, not knowing what is missing in our lives and not knowing the truth of a happier, more fulfilling, successful and rewarding life," says Klatt. "We do not know any other way to think."
According to the author, millions of people suffer from an emotional disorder, a physical and/or psychological addiction, and/or obsessive, irrational behavior. These behaviors devastate families and destroy relationships and can hinder a person's awareness of God's presence and love. Klatt's book explains "what happens, why it happens, why we act and think the way we do, and what unlocks the supernatural power of God. We have a choice, and we will have eternity to think about it."
D. M. Klatt and his wife live in Georgia. They have a son in college and two grown stepsons.
