Hopes to establish relationship between reader and God via poetry

2008-04-08

LONGWOOD, FL-Helen VanEck Holub turned to God to guide her pen when she began writing her book of inspirational and Christian poetry, Guided by the Spirit (paperback, 978-1-60266-871-3), sensing He had wanted her to do this for a long time. The compilation of stories and poems relates to psalms in the Bible and vows to foster a long-lasting relationship between readers and the Holy Spirit.

A natural theme in Holub's life since childhood, the vivid images and words of her poetry have always appealed to readers because of their honesty and candor, having come from her heart. She hopes that readers of her new book will find at least some comfort, excitement, love, or solace within these pages--as she found in God when He delivered her from several near-death experiences and, in so doing, expressed His ultimate concern for her wellbeing.

"I sincerely hope that not only "ill my readers realize the importance of God in their lives, but of prayer and of the Holy Spirit, who exists in our hearts," says Holub. "Many of my poems express this and also express that even through grief, my poetry will help to complete a wholeness in their lives when they are feeling as though there is no God, as many of us do."

Helen VanEck Holub has been published in several World of Poetry anthologies in the '80s and from 2002-2007 in books by Poetry.com and Nobel House Publishers. Her first book, Echoes of Love, is in pre-production.
