LONGWOOD, FL--Within the pages of the new Xulon Press title, Lee Roberson - Always About His Father's Business ($20.99, paperback, 978-1-60957-988-3), author James H. Wigton tells the remarkable life story of one of the icons of the independent fundamental Baptist movement in America. Dr. Roberson, who was born in a log cabin and spent his early years near English, Indiana, grew to become one of the first mega-church pastors in building up Highland Park Baptist Church in Chattanooga and the founder of a major Christian college, Tennessee Temple University. With hours of interviews with the subject himself and other insiders, this is the definitive story of a great preacher, a great church, and a great Christian college.

"Probably no other pastor had a greater impact on the independent Baptist movement in America, also with an extraordinary influence in Southern Baptist circles," the author says. "This is his story as told nowhere else. I hope readers gain an appreciation for a unique life of a man who was 'sold out' to God and the inspiration to serve Christ in a similar fashion."

Trained in journalism, Dr. James H. Wigton is an ordained pastor and former newspaper editor and reporter who has contributed to numerous Christian magazines. He preached with and knew Dr. Roberson and his movement personally, so when it came time to tell his story, the author approached the topic as a journalist. "He gave me intimate access to the study of his life, including hours of personal interview with him and his close associates," the author says. It is his hope that by reading this book, many others will become acquainted with the man behind the movement.
